Insane Reasons To Become An Entrepreneur

When you hear Steve Jobs,  Mark Zuckerberg,  Bill Gates,  what comes to your mind ( apart from money)  ? Guys that made it as entrepreneurs right?  I guessed so. But for every successful entrepreneur ( with varying degrees of success),  there's a thousand more who didn't make it because the became disillusioned after coming in for the wrong reasons ( some reasons are hilarious by the way) .

What's your reason?

    It's All About The Money:

What else?  There's no reason that is more common or more recurring than the money.  Call it whatever, guap,  bread,  cheese,  green, paper,  whatever.  It's a strong enough motivation to do absolutely anything.   The unfortunate thing with entrepreneurship is that the money doesnt just come immediately.  It takes work,  hard work,  smart work, efficient work, and a whole lot of patience.
As an entrepreneur,  your customers are not interested in making you rich,  they want value.  Create value and money will come.  Simple logic!

     To Change The World :

The world already has too many problems as it is, and you'll only be attempting suicide if you try to change it all at once.  Focus on meeting a specific need in your environment first.
Focus on providing a specific kind of value and with time,  the world will change.  Big businesses did not start big.

To Become The Next Bill Gates :

Who doesn't want to become rich and famous? Who doesn't want the CEO title attached to his name?  Who doesn't want a house,  car,  yacht and dog?  If fame is your drive,  you might as well drive yourself out of a business before your picture hits the front page of any news paper.  Follow excellence,  feeling will come.

To Stop Working For Someone Else:

One of the initial illusions of entrepreneurial life is freedom.  What entrepreneurship offers is a kind of pseudo freedom where you are in charge of decision making and all, but you still have someone to answer to somehow.  Maybe it's investors,  customers etc.  You'll always have to work to make someone happy.  It just doesn't operate on the same principle of employee life

    To Follow Your Passion :

You will follow your passion that's for sure but you'll find out over time that passion is hardly enough to drive you.  When start-ups start up ( no pun intended)   there is a whole lot of marketing and sales to be done.  Sometimes,  you'll find out you're better off getting a job in your desired field than starting  a business.

To Get Income With Little Or No Effort:

It's everybody's dream,  but it only stays a dream.  Some people get into entrepreurship with the hope that sometime in the future,  they'll be able to just stay at home and have money drop ( magically) into their accounts.  It's an illusion,  it's a lie,  it won't happen.  You'll have to work extra long and extra hard for every cent,  every dollar,  every nairaland.

     To Prove That They Can:

Not much to be said about this one.  Wrong reason,  bound to crash and burn.
