Why You Are Broke

A lot has been said about money,  like how it makes the world go round and how loving it is the root of all evil.  The thoughts of most people, most of the time,  revolve around money whether directly or indirectly.  Questions like "when am I going to pay off this debt?" "who can I borrow from? " " how do I pay the bills? " are given the right to roam free in our minds .

These negative thoughts are parasites to our energy and drain us mentally. It causes us to lose our creativity, a bit of our happiness and our ability to solve problems.  It also makes us feel less in control of our lives.
Financial mindset ( along with hardwork and determination ) is a key component in our quest to escape being broke,  dead broke. What you believe controls you,  and it is important we know that financial mindset is not just about buying a house or paying off a debt.
There are a couple of wrong mindsets that have kept people broke.  Today,  I will be sharing them with you.

The Fear Of Money

Some people are afraid to spend money in order to make money.  They are more scared of the risk of losing $25 in a venture that can fetch them $100 dollars. They make their business decisions based on fear forgetting that risking nothing actually means risking everything.  Fear based decisions steal your happiness and do NOT lead to prosperity.  At best,  it leaves you in comfort zone,  you never grow past your comfort zone.
There is a whole world of difference between those who make financial decisions based on their fear and those who intend to prosper.  Fear makes you broke,  and keeps you broke.

I Am A Terrible Money Manager

Firstly,  nobody was born with the ability to manage money, to budget or plan for financial future.  It is a process,  it can be learnt through discipline.
You will remain broke if your first instinct after getting money is to think of the next thing to buy to satisfy your vanity.  Your first instinct should be to save a portion of it. Luckily for us,  there are books,  audios,  podcasts, consultants and trainers that can teach money management.  Quit fooling yourself,  your inability to manage money is no longer a valid excuse.  Learn or remain broke.

There Is Always Someone To Sort Me Out

YOUR FINANCIAL FUTURE IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, I repeat , YOUR FINANCIAL FUTURE IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. You should learn to stop waiting on your parents, friends or even employers to sort you out.  What if you lose the job, or friends,  or your parents decide you are too old to be dependent,  where do you go from there? The more you sit around and wait for someone,  the older you get,  and the less of a future you have.  There's no better time to start planning for your future than now, right now.

The Spiritual Mindset

Unfortunate as it sounds,  there are people that believe money is evil and poverty is holy.  They'll tell you the love of money is the root of all evil and complain about their inability to pay their bills.  The truth is,  it really doesn't matter if you are the highest ranked person in your place of work or the lowest, in one form or another,  you are providing value (products or services) in exchange for value (money) . The more value you give,  the more you receive . A workman is worthy of his wage.  There is nothing more spiritual than using your talents to add value to this world.

I Am Not __ Enough

The dash could mean different things to different people.  To some,  it could be old/young, to others,  it could be smart and to most,  it could be educated. There is nothing new under the sun and there are a million people who have the right to wallow in self pity because of excuses like these and chose not to, they chose to overcome the minor hurdle of excuse and achieve financial success.
There is no budget big enough to help you become successful if you feel you are not worthy of success.  You are only worth as much as you think you're worth. That voice that provides you with a constant stream of excuses will keep you broke if you choose to listen to it.
