Google Online Marketing Challenge (GOMC) 2017

     The Google Online Marketing Challenge provides a platform for students to experience as well as create online marketing campaigns using Google Adwords.
 In the past 9 years, a plethora of students and professors from at least 100 countries have participated.
The challenge is open to student teams of a minimum of three and a maximum of six members from undergraduate or graduate programs, irrespective of their major.

All students are required to register under a verified faculty member, lecturer or instructor currently employed in an accredited higher education institute. The students are to select a Team Captain  who,in  turn, registers under the verified professor/lecturer/instructor, who then confirms each student team by clicking a verification link sent via email after the team registers.

In this competition, student teams are expected to develop and run successful online marketing campaigns for real businesses and non profit organizations using google adwords  and a budget of $250 provided by Google over a three week period. The winners will be selected by a panel of academics and Google based on the success of their campaigns.

Students will also have the chance to participate in the optional Adwords Certification category by passing the requisite examinations to become an Adwords certified individual in the Google Partners platform.

There are four competition regions: The Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific. There will be one overall global winner and one winner from the different regions respectively.
The global winner as well as the instructor/professor/lecturer will receive a 7-night trip to San Francisco including a day at the Google headquarters in California to meet with  Googlers from the Adwords, University programs and marketing teams. The team will also receive digital devices as well as other prizes.
The regional winners will receive a trip to a regional google office as well as digital devices.

  1. Thanks my friend for sharing these details here. The online marketing focuses on being visible on the top search engine positions. There are two ways to do so- SEO and PPC with Google Adwords Marketing. SEO gives organic results whereas in PPC you have to pay for each click on your ad.
