Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme

     The Tony Elumelu Foundation has started accepting applications from African entrepreneurs with innovative ideas that can transform the continent. 
The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2010 by Nigerian businessman, Tony Elumelu,  with the sole aim of promoting excellence in business leadership and entrepreneurship across Africa.

Tony Elumelu Foundation founder and philanthropist, Tony O. Elumelu  CON said:

“Our Programme is a deliberate effort to institutionalise luck and provide the essentials for business growth to Africa’s next generation of business leaders. It is a demonstration of my faith in this generation’s ability to transform the African narrative, from the single story of disease and poverty, to one of enterprise and opportunity. Spread the word; we need Africa’s best and brightest entrepreneurs. Their ideas will transform Africa.”

Successful applicants will join the third stream of the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme, a 10-year, $100 Million commitment to train, mentor and fund 10000 African Entrepreneurs in as many African countries as possible.
 Since 2015, the programme has assisted nearly 2000 entrepreneurs whilst creating job opportunities for several others across Africa.

1000 entrepreneurs will be selected  based on their idea's viability which include: financial understanding, scalability, market understanding, leadership as well as entrepreneurial  skills demonstrated in the application.

The programme will provide necessary ingredients for success in entrepreneurship. They include:

1. 12 weeks of intensive training an setting up and managing businesses.
2. Mentoring from experienced and established entrepreneurs for the applicants in creating business plans.
3.  $5000  in non-returnable seed capital and access to $5000 convertible loan.

To be eligible:

Business must be based in Africa
Business must be for profit
Business must be 0-3 years old
Applicants must be at least 18 and a legal resident or citizen of an African country.
